Yamaha Phase One Finish 8th in Superstock TT
Phase One's Steve Plater finished 8th in today's Scottish Life International Superstock TT race, riding a Nitro-Phase One Yamaha YZF-R1. Plater finished the race in 1 hour 13:40.87 minutes, averaging 122.897mph.
The race was won by Cameron Donald (TAS Relentless Suzuki GSX-R1000) in 1 hour 11:59.69 minutes, at 125.776 mph, with John McGuinness second and Guy Martin third.
Team manager Russell Benney: “We had a long pitstop – 56 seconds rather than the typical 45 seconds – while Steve changed his gloves, but the fresh gloves gave him more front-end feel and allowed him to up the pace. This was a great result for Steve and the team, rounded off by Steve finishing second in this afternoon's Supersport 1 race on the AIM Yamaha.
“We're now gearing up for the next practice session on Wednesday afternoon, when Michael Dunlop and Mark Buckley will be back out on our bikes getting ready for Friday's Senior TT. We're going to try a few set-up changes, but the Island is the sort of place where it's impossible to get the bike right for the whole circuit so if it doesn't work we'll be happy to go with the setting we've already got. Michael Dunlop is a real racer's racer and I'm looking forward to the Senior on Friday.”
